About This Spot

Stepping into Café Kardamom Berlin feels like entering a quiet, heartfelt corner of Persian hospitality tucked along Badensche Strasse. This unassuming family-run spot welcomes you with a gentle calmness, a place where the rhythm of the city softens and slows down just enough to savor simple, honest moments.

The atmosphere here is unpretentious and warm, marked by the subtle buzz of content diners and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed tea. The pace is unhurried, making it a comforting retreat whether you stop by for a mid-afternoon cookie paired with fragrant tea or a more substantial, home-cooked meal that unfolds with generous portions and familiar flavors.

Food at Café Kardamom carries a sense of tradition and care, where each dish emerges as a quiet celebration of Persian culinary heritage. You might find yourself lingering over a rich halim served alongside a steaming cup of tea, or sharing vibrant plates that bring together fresh herbs, tender kebabs, and earthy stews. Sweet treats appear unexpectedly generous—freshly baked cookies and cakes that feel like a small, thoughtful gift to the palate.

It’s clear the heart of this café lies in its hospitality just as much as its kitchen. There is a generosity in the way food is served—massive portions, an included tea, or even a wedge of melon—as if welcoming you into a friend's home rather than a typical restaurant. This openness lends the space a familial warmth that guests consistently note, creating an experience woven from kindness and a genuine desire to share a taste of home.

While the surroundings may feel modest, the spirit inside is rich, built on deep-rooted care for both food and community. For those exploring Berlin beyond the surface, Café Kardamom offers a pause—a moment to connect with Persian flavors and the quiet joy of sharing somewhere that feels lived-in and sincere.

First food stop of our holiday. 10/10. Lovely woman and amazing prices. If I could give a million stars I would. We had the kebab, aubergine, and shami lori. Also MASSIVE portions plus free tea and melon.

Positive points: - Great food! We tried “shami lori” and it was just great! I highly recommend it. Also we had kebab that was also of high quality. Rice was also of good quality. :)) - Delicious and fresh cookies! - They were very kind, and we had a very positive feeling there. Things to improve: The appearance of the cafe does not deliver this message of cleanness. I hope they improve it, because the food is very good that it is a pity if the appearance and cleanness of the restaurant is not that strong. Because of the food and the waiters and the chef for cooking such delicious foods, I recommend this place. But if you are looking for a fancy and super clean cafe, you might be a bit disappointed.

Very very very tasty halim. Tea was also included. Staff are very kind and hospitality was felt in any interaction. If you crave halim it definitely worths the visit.

It is a family Business, with a friendly atmosphere and you should try it if you want to taste a homemade meal. A good variety of Persian foods and sweets is available.

Tried one of the nice Iranian restaurants in Berlin. Had a great time there. Service was excellent, beginning with a cup of tea, followed by a wait for the food. It took a bit, but the quality and freshness were worth it. I had fish with vegetable rice, and it tasted delicious.

This restaurant instantly reminded me of home. The food tasted just like my mum’s cooking, full of flavor and comfort. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. It is cozy, inviting, and the kind of place where you feel at ease as soon as you walk in. I can’t recommend it enough.

I had a lunch here with a friend of mine who suggested this café. He told me that the food is changing regularly, so we ordered what they served for the day. We were served tea and cookies first and then came our food. This was a food to remember, a food that made me feel things. There isn’t a place in Berlin where I had such a delicious food before that brought me back to my childhood in an instance. Everything is fresh and the spices they use are just so on point. The stew was so warm and everything in it was so tender I could cry of happiness. Definitely worth the visit. Incredibly kind service. Cosy atmosphere.
